6-Year-Old Boy Rushed to Hospital After Being Pulled From Pond on Long Island: Officials

Family members pulled a young boy from a backyard pond on Long Island Sunday night, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to a home in Baywood, where the family told police the 6-year-old boy was unresponsive when they dragged him out of the water around 7 p.m., authorities said.

One relative started CPR and the boy had come around by the time police had arrived on the scene, officials said.

The boy was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was listed in stable condition.
