5 Injured in Shooting Outside Brooklyn Bar: NYPD

Three people were shot, one person was grazed by a bullet and another was cut on the back of the head outside a bar early Monday in Brooklyn, police said.

The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. in the area of Flatbush Avenue and Westbury Court in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

A woman who works at the bar said a brawl broke out as a group of patrons walked out of Avenue D Sports Bar and a group of neighborhood residents started to fight with them. 

One man, 30, was shot in the throat, another, 30, was shot in the thigh and shin, one, 34, was shot in the arm and another,24, was grazed on the arm.

A bouncer who tried to intervene was injured after being struck on the back of the head with a hard object. The bouncer told NBC 4 New York that he is "a trooper."

"It was just a little sting in the back of my head but I'm OK now," he said outside the bar Monday morning, wearing a medical bandage around his head,

Authorities said the other victims were were taken to Kings County Hospital and are expected to recover.

A motive was not immediately clear and no arrests have been made.
