A 73-year-old woman was fatally struck by an SUV Monday morning, the NYPD said.
A 38-year-old driver in an SUV struck the woman, identified by police as Yimei Gao, of Queens, as she was crossing Queens Boulevard at 56th Avenue around 6:22 a.m., the NYPD said.
The driver was traveling west on Queens Boulevard when he hit the woman, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The driver whose car hit the woman remained at the scene and has not been arrested or charged.
An investigation is ongoing.
