4 Injured by Falling Tree Limb at Long Island Block Party

Four people were injured during a block party on Long Island Saturday night, when a large tree limb fell on them.

The three women and one man were attending the block party on Maple Drive in New Hyde Park when they were struck by the tree limb around 10:30 p.m., police said.

A 30-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a fractured right leg, and the three women, all in their 40s, were also taken to a hospital for contusions, lacerations and back and shoulder pain.

None of the injuries are considered life threatening.

No word yet on what caused the tree limb to fall.
