4 Arrested for Stealing Town Pool Chairs

Four men have been arrested for stealing various items at a town pool in Long Island, police say.

Pedro Martinez, 39, Asencion Yanez, 44,    Jose Acosta, 31, and Guillermo Rodriguez, 43, all of Wyandanch, were each charged with third-degree burglary and possession of burglars' tools.

It wasn't immediately clear if they had attorneys.

Police were alerted to the theft by a Babylon township employee who saw a man carrying a set of blue pool chairs belonging to the town as he drove by Geiger Lake Town Pool at about 11:40 a.m. Thursday.

The employee called 911 and noticed three more men leave the pool house carrying additional items from the building.

The men also took copper wiring and assorted metal bathroom fixtures, police said.

Detectives ask any other potential witnesses to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
