Suspected Drunk Driver Hits 3 Police Vehicles Near GWB

Authorities say the cars of four police officers investigating one suspected drunk driver were struck by another early Monday in northern New Jersey.

The four officers were treated for back and neck injuries.

All of them are with the police department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Authorities say the officers had three police cars parked on the shoulder of Interstate 95 near the George Washington Bridge after stopping a suspected drunk driver a little after 4 a.m.

It was then that another car plowed into one of the police cars from behind, sparking a chain reaction.

The driver was identified as 40-year-old Omar Roach.

He was taken to Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck.
