3 Injured in 4-Alarm Brooklyn Fire

The fire started in the basement of a building on Menahan Street in Bushwick

A four-alarm fire in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon left three people injured, including two firefighters.

Officials said the fire started in the basement of a five-story commercial building on Menahan Street in Bushwick just before 1:30 p.m. and spread to first and second floors.

The fire was brought under control at around 3:30 p.m., authorities said.

One person was seriously injured along with two firefighters who suffered minor injuries. All three were transported to a nearby hospital, officials said.
