Motorcyclist Dies in NJ Police Chase

Traveling at high speeds, police say the motorcyclist lost control trying to navigate a turn and crashed

A 25-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle crashed during a police chase in New Jersey early Friday morning, authorities said.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., police in Clifton say they received a report of two motorcylces driving erratically. Police spotted the motorcycles soon after at a red light on Route 46.

As police turned on their lights to pull them over, one of the motorcyclists took off through the red light, forcing police to give chase.

Traveling at high speeds, police say the motorcyclist lost control of his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja while trying to navigate a turn and crashed into a concrete barrier. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The man's identity has not been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
