Authorities say at least two of the three New Jersey police officers wounded in a confrontation with a gunman wearing body armor have been released from the hospital.
Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss told NJ Advance Media that an Irvington detective and an officer grazed by bullets had been discharged from University Hospital in Newark.
Another officer shot in the ankle and grazed by another bullet was still in the hospital Friday evening, but the mayor said his wounds aren't considered life-threatening.
The state attorney general's office said the officers responded to a shooting Thursday morning in which an unarmed 20-year-old dad was killed.
The gunman, 39-year-old Kaizen Crossen, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police.
Vauss said Crossen had a bulletproof vest, "lots of ammo" and another gun.
