2 Guards Shot in Brooklyn: NYPD

Two security guards are hospitalized in critical condition after being shot at a Brooklyn housing complex they were hired to protect, authorities said Saturday.

A 30-year-old guard was wounded in the neck and chin and his coworker as struck by a bullet in the back, police said.

The guards were hired to patrol a housing complex in Brownsville, residents told the Daily News. The shootings occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Friday near Rockaway and Livonia avenues.

One guard was coming off his shift and the other was just starting his workday when the shots were fired.

Police are searching for suspects.
