2 Brooklyn Teachers Die While Sightseeing in Arizona: Reports

Two Brooklyn teachers died Monday night while sightseeing in Arizona, reports say.

Hindy Spira, 27, and Raizel Morgenstern, 24, were on a weeklong vacation with two other teachers when their rental car was struck by a tractor-trailer near Holbrook, according to the New York Post.

Morgenstern, who was driving, and Spira, who was in the front passenger seat, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe Morgenstern didn’t see the truck when she turned into its path from Route 77 onto Route 377, according to the Daily News.

The two other teachers with them, Miriam Meyer and Suri Mayerovitz, both 26, were taken to Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow with unknown injuries, the reports say.
