Cops Believe Same Man Behind 2 Attempted Sex Attacks in Brooklyn

Two women fought off separate attempted sex attacks in Brooklyn within an hour Thursday, according to police, and authorities have released surveillance images of the man they believe to be responsible.

The first attack was around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, when police say a man followed a 22-year-old woman to her apartment building near Lincoln Place and Albany Avenue. As she unlocked her door, the attacker pushed her to the ground and said he had a knife, police said.

He attempted to sexually abuse her, but the victim kicked the suspect and sprayed him with Mace, police said. He fled the scene. The victim wasn't physically injured.

About an hour later, a 32-year-old woman was entering her apartment building at Dean Street and Nostrand Avenue when a man followed her, police said. When she got out of the elevator, the attacker put his hand over her mouth and attempted to sexually abuse her as well, according to police.

The victim was able to push him off and he fled the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries and refused treatment.
