2 Wounded in Staten Island Shooting: NYPD

Two people were wounded Sunday in a late afternoon shooting on Staten Island, police said.

A 71-year-old man was hit in the torso and a 63-year-old woman was struck in the arm by shots fired by two individuals who fled on dirt bikes, New York City Police Department investigators said.

The victims, who haven't been identified, were taken to Richmond University Medical Center. Their wounds didn't appear to be life-threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting took place at about 5:30 p.m. on Jersey Street in the St. George neighborhood.
