2 Teens Charged With Murder in Thanksgiving Carjacking That Killed NJ Woman

Two teenagers were charged with murder in the shooting death of a woman during a carjacking on Thanksgiving, prosecutors announced Saturday.

Supreme A. Allah, 18, and a 14-year-old boy were charged with murder in the death of Shuri Henry, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

The pair is also charged with robbery, carjacking and weapons charges.

A 20-year-old man, Antonio Torres, was charged with eluding police, prosecutors said. He was also riding in the victim's car.

Henry, 40, was shot in the chest on Thanksgiving night during an apparent robbery on South 20th Street in Newark, prosecutors and law enforcement sources said.

Henry was returning from Thanksgiving dinner with her relatives and had her 7-year-old nephew with her at the time, sources say.

Her nephew was not injured.

Police were searching for Henry's vehicle Friday morning when officers spotted it and gave chase, according to sources.

Four people inside the car took off running; three of them were arrested after a foot chase, sources say. The fourth person got away.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Allah or Torres had attorneys.
