2 New Jersey Men Arrested and Charged After Credit Card Forgery and Encoder Found in Long Island: Police

Two men were arrested for possessing forged credit cards and a credit card encoder early Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Police officers stopped Olisa Uzoegwu, 20, and Chidubem Adi, 19, after their vehicle ran a red light at around 3 a.m. near Old Town Road and Sheep Pasture Road, authorities said. During the stop, the officers noticed a bag of marijuana on the rear seat.

After further investigation, the officers found that the men were in possession of four forged credit cards and a credit card encoder, police said. The vehicle also had a fake license plate.

Uzoegwu was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of a forgery device, false personation, and unlicensed driver. Adi was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, unauthorized possession of marijuana and false personation.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip Saturday.
