2 Men Found Dead After Bronx Fire: Officials

Two men have been found dead after a fire at a home in the Bronx, authorities say.

The blaze was reported at a residential building on Faile Street in Hunts Point late Wednesday night, and was under control about an hour and a half later around 1 a.m. Thursday morning, officials said.

Police say firefighters found the men, both in their 30s, after the fire was extinguished.

They were both suffering from smoke inhalation and were taken to Lincoln Hospital, where they both were pronounced dead.Police said both victims were squatters.

Authorities have not released their names, pending family notification.

Records from the NYC Department of Buildings show more than a dozen complaints about the building since 2010. Several of them mention people squatting there and setting fire inside.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
