2 Killed, 4 Wounded in Yonkers Shooting

5-year-old boy among the victims

Two people died and four others were wounded in a wild shooting at a Yonkers apartment building, police say.

Police said Tuesday that the incident occurred overnight at the Cromwell Towers. Cops were called to the building on Locust Hill Avenue just after 1 a.m. and directed to a 9th floor apartment, where they found the gunshot victims. Two of the individuals -- Kasheem Little, 21, and Carlton McLeod, 23 -- were pronounced dead at the scene while the others were taken to local hospitals.

The other victims included a 5-year-old boy, who was shot in the arm, a 17-year-old woman who was shot in the chest and leg, a 33-year-old man who was shot in the shoulder, arm and torso, and a 56-year-old man who was shot in the arm and lower back/hip area. All of the surviving victims are listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, but cops say an initial investigation revealed witnesses saw three men running from the scene.

The Journal News describes the building as "crime-plagued.''

A string of violence in the past three weeks has left four people dead and more than 12 wounded in Yonkers.

Police say anyone with information regarding the shooting should call the Yonkers Police Detective Division at 914-377-7724. The investigation is ongoing.
