NYC Skyscraper Evacuated as Fire Breaks Out

A skyscraper at Hudson Yards was evacuated after a small fire broke out on an upper floor Thursday afternoon.

A spokesman for 10 Hudson Yards says a small electrical fire broke out on the 27th floor at 10 Hudson Yards, on West 30th Street. Smoke was visible from the street below.

Firefighters were entering the 55-story office building as people streamed out, going down staircases and out of the lobby. The FDNY initially said the entire building was evacuated, but a spokesman for the building said only four floors were evacuated.

Everyone has since returned to the building.

There was no reports of any injuries.

The building opened in May 2016, the first skyscraper to be built on the new West Side skyline. Watch reporter Andrew Siff's first look at the building.
