1 Dead, 1 Injured in Long Island Crash: Police

Police say one person was killed and another critically injured in a Long Island car crash Friday evening.

A man driving south on Pidgeon Hill Road in South Huntington crossed into the northbound lane and struck a minivan, according to officials.

Coles Jacquet, 30, a passenger in the car that veered into the wrong lane, died in the crash, and Fermin Estevez, 23, the car's driver, was taken to Stony Brook Hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the minivan and its four passengers, including three children, were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
