A man is dead and two others are hurt after two vans crashed on Long Island early Saturday, police said.
Samir Patel, 51, was trying to turn his vehicle around on Nicolls Road in Centereach shortly after 1 a.m. when he was hit by another van turning onto the road from Middle Country Road, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Patel was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Newsday, photos show that one of the vehicles was a hotel airport van.
The driver of the second van, a 56-year-old man from Lake Grove, and Patel's passenger, a 64-year-old Holtsville man, are expected to recover, police said. The two men were hospitalized at Stony Brook University Hospital.
