Creative Energy Foods, Inc. Recall
Creative Energy Foods has recalled a variety of brands of nutrition bars because they may contaminated with salmonella. No illnesses have been reported.
The recalled bars include various flavors and lot codes of the following brands: Can Do Kid, Isagenix IsaLean, Nestle, Zone, think Thin, Promax, Promax 70, and Shaklee. In the U.S. the bars were distributed in California, Arizona, Indiana, and Ohio. For more information, call (510) 567-1200.
Ready Pac Recall
Ready Pac Foods Inc. is recalling two products containing peanut butter that may have been contaminated.
The company issued the voluntary recall Tuesday after one of its suppliers notified it of possible contamination amid a salmonella outbreak linked to six deaths and 470 illnesses.
U.S. & World
Ready Pac says the recalled products -- apple and celery with peanut butter packages -- were distributed in 13 states. No illnesses have been connected with the products.
Consumers are being warned to avoid eating some foods containing peanut butter, but peanut butter sold in jars is not included. The Food and Drug Administration has traced the outbreak to a Georgia plant owned by Peanut Corp. of America.
PetSmart Recalls Treats With Peanut Paste
PetSmart is recalling seven Grreat Choic Dog Biscuit products that contain peanut paste. The paste is made by Penaut Corporation of America which is the center of the investigation into a salmonella outbreak connected to peanut butter recall.
The recalled dog treats were sold between Aug. 21, 2008 and Jan. 19, 2009. (Get the list.)
Cookie Dough Sold Through SoCal Schools
A recall has also been ordered for peanut butter cookie dough distributed during fundraising activities at about a dozen Southern California schools. The dough may be tainted with salmonella.
Dr. Mark Horton, director of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), today warned consumers not to handle or consume frozen Peanut Butter Cookie Dough distributed by Sweet Success Fundraising Inc, of Ontario, California because of potential contamination with Salmonella. The Department further recommends that any dough that has been thawed or baked should also be discarded.
