America's Unhealthiest Shoppers

America's Unhealthiest Grocery Shoppers spotlights US cities where the grocery shopping population are buying higher quantities of sugary, salty, soda-y fare. Forbes.com determined the locations based on percentages of overall grocery bills devoted to such unhealthy items as opposed to areas where the spending is geared more toward healthier food, such as fresh produce, lean meats, and whole grains. Although shoppers know that fresh fruits and vegetables are where the healthy action is, folks in these cities are spending up to 11.5% of their grocery budgets on unhealthy foods.
