Gamblers cheered this week when a horse named "Subprime" won the ninth race at the Aqueduct race track in New York.
The victory on Thursday was the first win in three tries for the 2-year-old filly, but the name made her an instant crowd darling.
The horse ran as the favorite and paid $6.30 on a $2 bet. She's owned by Virginia horse breeder Edward Evans.
Subprime was sired by a stallion with another name inspired by Wall Street: High Yield.
