NASA to Reveal Space Station Room Name on “Colbert”

NASA says the international space station's newest room will have its name revealed on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."

Host Stephen Colbert took an interest in the space agency's online naming poll for Node 3. The comedian quipped: "I certainly hope NASA does the right thing. Just kidding, I hope they name it after me."

Voters could choose from four NASA options -- Serenity, Legacy, Earthrise and Venture -- or suggest their own. Colbert was the top choice -- earning more than 230,000 votes out of 1 million -- but NASA reserved the right to be the final arbiter.

Astronaut Sunita Williams will appear on Tuesday's episode for the naming announcement.

Mission Control is at Johnson Space Center in Houston, where astronauts train.
