Shia LaBeouf Busted on DUI Charges

"Indiana Jones" co-star flipped pickup in Hollywood crash

LOS ANGELES - "Indiana Jones" co-star Shia LaBeouf was arrested on drunken driving charges early Sunday after his pickup collided with another vehicle and flipped in West Hollywood, authorities said. Cops at the scene said it was clear that the 22-year-old star, who played Indy's motorcycle riding son in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," was drunk. "It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated, and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf said. LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn shortly before 3 a.m. when his Ford pickup hit another vehicle and rolled onto its roof at the intersection of Fountain and La Brea Aves., Wolf said. LeBeouf, who also starred in last summer's blockbuster "Transformers," was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was treated for injuries to his head, left hand and knee. His female passenger and the driver of the car that the star hit also suffered minor injuries. Their identities were not released by police.

It was not clear whether LaBeouf will face felony or misdemeanor charges. The former child-star also was arrested last November on charges of drunken shopping at a Chicago Walgreens. The misdemeanor charges were eventually dropped. LaBeouf later told talk show host David Letterman, "Drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping ... it's just as bad." His other credits include the family movie "Holes" and Disney Channel series "Even Stevens." He is next slated to appear in the action thriller "Eagle Eye" in September.
