During a 2007 forum on faith moderated by CNN's Soledad O'Brien, John Edwards offered a response that was chock full of foreshadowing. O'Brien asked the erstwhile presidential candidate what was the worst sin he had ever committed. Experienced trial attorney that he is, Edwards danced around the question, admitting that he sinned frequently, every day in fact––as he said everyone does––but nothing in particular struck him as being a salient, notable sin worth mentioning on live television.
