A plainclothes NYPD Transit team has been riding trains throughout Queens at night, looking to make riders aware of a sleepy crime trend that has been spiking: Thieves looking for snoozing passengers who they can steal phones, jewelry or more from.

After a series of incidents on NYC subways where people were robbed after falling asleep, police officers said they are looking to crack down on these and other subway crimes. News 4’s I-Team got an exclusive look on patrol with undercover officers. Marc Santia reports.

This afternoon police in Dover, New Jersey are warning homeowners about a group of masked people who are going out knocking on doors.  Those knocks have been coming late at night or before 4 in the morning.  It’s not clear why.  NBC New York’s Pat Battle reports.
