Your Chance To Imitate Christ (And Get Rare Designer Duds)

We all know JC was a giver not a taker. When designer Tara Subkoff, who brought the Imitation of Christ label to national prominence, was diagnosed with a brain tumor her friends rallied around her. When your friends include Scarlett Johansson and Beatrice Inn's Paul Sevigny, that's a pretty good support group.

And Subkoff's friends will be holding a silent auction on July 15 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Deitch Projects (76 Grand St.) to benefit the designer who will need assistance as she undergoes treatment for her brain tumor. Subkoff herself will donate 200 couture pieces from her personal collection to be auctioned off at the gallery, and artwork from a bevy of artists will be auctioned off as well. The aforementioned Sevigny and DJ Rachel Chandler will provide entertainment and a soundtrack on the night of the silent auction. Donations can also be made to New York Foundation for the Arts, which can be reached at staff@artproductionfund.org. Ask yourself, what would Jesus do? You're sure to find the answer is bid on some very cool clothes -- it's for a good cause and all. You know he'd be tired of sandals.
