World's Most Famous Kisser Back in NYC for Vet's Day

The nurse from Life mag's iconic war-time smooch photo is back in town to celebrate

You'd have to be made of wood not to get a case of the warm fuzzies with this one: Edith Shain, the nurse who made photographic history when Life magazine shutterbug Alfred Eisenstaedt snapped a picture of her seconds after a sailor grabbed and kissed her on August 15, 1945 - a.k.a. the day Japan surrendered, ending WWII, a.k.a. the last time people danced in the streets before last Tuesday - is back in town. The 90-year-old is in the Veteran's Day Parade as we speak. And nope, she still doesn't know who the mystery sailor was.

Speaking of Times Square lip locks captured in the middle of historic events, here's our current favorite from last week.
