Wine versus chocolate: How, really, do you chose? On May 13, at Jackie Gordon's Lower East Side cocoa temple Divalicious Chocolate, you won't have to.
Gordon's enlisted the help of Jean-Baptiste Humbert, of the organic/specialty-wine shop Wine Therapy, to produce an evening class introducing you to complementary varieties of each. This is no rafters-swinging free-for-all where you get to gorge on two of your favorite things: It's a serious sit-down event designed to teach you about the origins of chocolate, and train your nose and palate to perfect pairings of grape and bean, running the gamut from milk chocolate to bittersweet dark from some of the world's most esteemed chocolatiers. (Still, though: Totally an excuse to eat a lot of chocolate and drink a bunch of wine in the name of education. Whee!)
