Hello Broadway! Are you ready to rock?!!!
The new '80s hair-band musical "Rock of Ages" has begun performances on the Great White Way, bringing along the sounds of Whitesnake, Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx and many, many, maybe too many more.
Producers are promising the cheapest seats on Broadway, including a daily lottery for $26.50 orchestra-level seats.
And the show did indeed get permission from the Brooks Atkinson Theatre to provide full bar service to the audience during the show. Theatergoers will be able to buy drink tokens before curtain and during intermission and trade them in for beer, wine, cocktails (and even on-alcoholic drinks) when a waiter comes by their seat in the orchestra. If you're in the mezzanine, you'll have to schlep to the bar on your own.
"Rock of Ages" is now in previews. Opening night is scheduled for April 7.
