What You're Doing Tonight

Our roundup of what's worth your time on 10/27

BOOK LAUNCH: The Expert's Guide to Doing Things Faster is feted tonight at a launch party at Whiskey Park. Doesn't author Samantha Ettus know reading books is, like, really slow? Crash the shindig and tell her yourself. We hope Rue McClanahan - who contrib'd the expertise on recovering from a breakup - will be on hand.

FLASHBACK: First time was a great time/second time was a blast - we were going to make a joke about this being the last stop for NKOTB before Branson, Mo. but we're too busy angsting out about why we still remember the lyrics to "You Got It (The Right Stuff)." In case you missed it, the boys are back at MSG tonight.

FAMOUS FROG: French director Michel Gondry signs copies of his book You'll Like This Film Because You're In It, a how-to for indie filmmakers. Even if you're not an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind fan, swing by the Strand for a one-degree-of-separation Kate Winslet contact high.

CLASSIC, REVISITED: Vilgot Sjöman's 1967 Swedish film I Am Curious (Yellow), about a sociologist who does her own research into sexual behaviors, is one of those classics that benefited hugely by being banned (for strong nookie content) and is now more interesting because of it - kind of like Brown Bunny, minus the skeeve. See it tonight at MoMA.
