What You're Doing Tonight, 12/18

New art, a cult Christmas slasher film, and vintage Motown

ARTY: NYU's Tisch students unleash some arty projects for the masses, on display at the Interactive Telecommunications Program in the Village. See and experience works by 70+ students - packed with flashing lights and interactive goodies - and imagine the thrill of saying you saw the next Matthew Barney here first. Until 9PM.

CULTY: The logline of this 1974 thriller by Bob Clark - yes, A Christmas Story's Bob Clark, the very same - is "If this picture doesn't make your skin crawl… it's on too tight." Black Christmas = homicidal psycho + sorority house + Margot Kidder. And it's playing at midnight at the Sunshine. Need we say more? 12AM.

VINTAGE: Who wants some retro Motown? Do you? How about you? Drop the needle on classics like 'Soldier Boy' and 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' (really, how many rom-coms has that been featured in?) and you have the Shirelles; head to Symphony Space's Peter Jay Sharpe Theater and the magic is there, live. 8PM.
