Watch Nas' New Music Video

One of the most striking songs from Life Is Good, the newest album from Queensbridge's very own Nas, is the closer "Bye Baby."

The track depicts him breaking up with the singer Kelis in frank terms, showcasing that humanity with which all of Nas' best songs are presented. The track may very well stand up with the greatest break-up songs of all time, along with Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way," Ryan Adams' "Why Do They Leave?", and "Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake. Featuring production by frequent collaborator Salaam Remi and Drake cohort Noah "40" Shebib," the song has a neo-New Jack vibe.

The video is stark, with Nas sitting in the same leather chair that he sits in on the Life Is Good cover, and stalking through a dark house alone, with only his memories to keep him company. He seems sad. He's drinking alone, standing near fire. He's holding a part of the wedding dress Kelis wore during their ceremony, a sea green that's stark against the black backdrop and whiteness of his suit.

The message of the song is this: take risks with love. The worst that can happen is heartbreak, but you'll have a bushel of great memories along the way.
