Take Me Homeware

Plus sales at Dear Fieldbinder in Carroll Gardens, and a look at the surprisingly fashionable goods at the JCPenney opening this week

DISHY: We fell in lurve at the Market at the OA Can Factory in Brooklyn when we came upon Take Me Homeware, ceramist May Luk’s gorgeous line of wonderfully homespun-looking dishes. We especially loved this Alpha Plate, stamped with the alphabet in a nifty, retroish font. $38; find Take Me Homeware at local markets (get updates here) or order online.

NOTABLE: Starting today, Carroll Gardens’ so-gorgeously-curated-it-looks-like-a-museum Dear Fieldbinder will take up to 75% off women’s spring and summer pieces from names like Dagmar, Lauren Moffatt and Fremont. The sale runs through August 2. 198 Smith Street near Baltic Street; Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn; 718-852-3620.

NEWCOMER: So JCPenney is days from cutting the ribbon on its Manhattan Mall megastore. What’s in it for you, exactly? The Cut has surveyed the merch and pronounces it not half bad – it helps that the Penney has taken its cue from Target and is pimping cheapo lines by big names like Charlotte Ronson and Ralph Lauren (whose goods sell under the American Living brand). Check it in the slideshow.
