Uniqlo Pops Up in the Flatiron

Uniqlo has opened the first of its trio of temporary pop-up shops, generating some buzz in anticipation of the new stores opening this fall in Herald Square and on 53rd Street.

The Flatiron pop-up will be followed by temporary shops in Columbus Circle and the Upper West Side opening later this month. All three will stay open for about a month, at which time the Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street store will open, followed by the Herald Square store, according to a sales associate.

The outpost on lower Fifth Avenue is everything you'd expect. Of course it's stacked with the chain's trademark wall of rainbow cashmere sweaters, plus the requisite t-shirts, denim and puffer jackets. While there's nothing that new here, it's still fun to take a walk through. If you're anything like us, you'll always wind up leaving with something.

Uniqlo Brand Shops: 155 5th Avenue (now open), 1880 Broadway (opening mid-August), 2385 Broadway (opening mid-August).
