Two NYPD Officers Stabbed in Queens

Police said one of the officers was stabbed in the left eye

Two New York City police officers are in stable condition at a hospital after being stabbed during a confrontation with a man who authorities say was emotionally disturbed.

Police said one of the officers was stabbed in the left eye, but could not immediately say whether his sight had been affected. The other officer was stabbed in the hand.

Police said the two officers were responding to a 911 call of an emotionally disturbed man at a Queens location. They said the 33-year-old man lashed out at the officers. The man was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital.
