The addictive Norwegian singer plays two NYC dates this weekend

Singer-songwriter Hanne Hukkelberg is a little bit country (only the country is Norway), a little bit folk, and bluesy in that home-brewed-tea-on-the-back-porch kind of way. She’s been nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the Norwegian Grammys, and even if you haven’t heard a note from her cozy album “Blood From a Stone,” a 2009 release on Netwerk, you’ll still be able to appreciate her live – which is something you have two opportunities to do this weekend.

Tonight (Friday), she opens for The Watson twins (of “Jenny Lewis and the” fame) at the Bell House starting at 7:30PM (get tickets here); tomorrow, she’s the headliner at Mercury Lounge, with melodramatic indie rockers Ravens & Chimes opening (get tickets here).
