We're Loving: Lauren Pierce

Besides her famous surname and family ties, most of us know Lauren Bush for her philanthropic FEED bag initiative, which stylishly combined fashion and charity in the form of a now-ubitquitous burlap tote bag. Now she's giving us even more reason to get in on her do-good wares with Lauren Pierce, her line of stunning print dresses.

The line, which debuted last spring offers dress produced from sustainable and organic fabrics such as hemp silk, bamboo and organic cotton, with each collection supporting local artisans in developing countries where the fabrics are sourced from—not that we'd expect anything less from Bush. But it's the prints that really have us gaga. This season's collection features a mix of sharply-cut dresses in a stellar assortment of tie-dyed fabrics, splendid for these hot summer nights when you don't want to have to pile on the statement jewelry or add layers of color to your outfit.

We were actually surprised to learn about Bush's talents as a designer, though she's definitely got the chops for the job. Not only did she take courses at Parsons Design School and Central St. Martin's School of Art & Design in London, she also cut her teeth interning with Zac Posen. And in 2003, a dress she designed for the CFDA awards was selected for the Goddess Costume Exhibit at the MET. Clearly, Bush has found her calling.
