We're Loving: Funky Jersey Separates by Erin Alexandra Klym

Like Donna Karan in the 80's, up-and-coming designer Eryn Alexandra Klym is changing the way we think about jersey. Perhaps the most underrated fabric in fashion, jersey can be manipulated without tearing or pulling, making it the perfect tool for Klym's fashionable experiments.

Twisted tunics, dramatic draped jackets, asymmetrical dresses and "coiled cord" neck pieces in a palette of moody grays and blushing pinks dominate Klym's current offerings this season. Ladies seeking fun updates to their everyday cableknit sweater will be interested in the gray fleece "motorcycle jacket," which looks a little more cardigan-like than biker with crisp pleats on front and a flouncey draped panel in the back. We're coveting a kimono-inspired belted wrap coat that can be styled seven different ways—a welcome change from our plain black blazer.

A Canada native, Klym says on her Etsy shop profile that her work is "influenced and manifested through isolation," and that the more remote her current town is, the better she finds her product. If that's true, we hope she moves to Antarctica for her next season. And as an added incentive to peruse her online boutique, $5 from each sale will go to benefit the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
