We're Loving: Camille Roman's Over-the-Top Headwear Collection

Central Saint Martins graduate and Gibraltar native, Camille Roman, cut her teeth at Zac Posen, Lanvin, and Johnny Loves Rosie before founding her own label, "Tour de Force." The young designer specializes in femininWeare designs loaded with cute and quirky details, and while we're definitely digging her ready-to-wear offerings, it's the fantastical headwear collection that really caught our attention.

Frequent gala-attendees or brides-to-be should pay special attention: Roman's headwear pieces walk the line between traditionally ladylike and completely over-the-top, with familliar designs given just a enough of a "tweak" to be rendered totally new and unexpected. A cool fringed cap, for example, becomes something totally different with the addition of tiny black ears (if only we'd seen this before Halloween!), or what looks like a giant bow headband in bright yellow is in fact a face mask, the spaces in the ribbon serving as peep-holes.

There may not be many day-to-day occasions for some of Roman's designs (though she does offer some accessible styles, like a gorgeous silk headwrap covered in tiny rosettes), but we can't think of a more unusual accent for holiday party outfit than one of her extreme head bands or frilly silk c.
