Vena Cava to Collaborate with Uniqlo

Lucky for us, Vena Cava designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock are keeping busy: Just weeks after showing a triumphant fall collection, the designer duo announced they'll be doing a collaboration with Uniqlo, Fashion Etc. reports.

Having established a fair share of fashion cred for an interesting downtown-girl aesthetic and special edge, the local designers have applied the same smarts to expanding their brand, collaborating on shoes with Via Spiga, "defaced" khakis for the Gap, a guest collection for Bloomingdale's Aqua line and, most recently, Proper Attire condoms.

At a panel discussion hosted by Fashion Group International, Buhai said, "We just want to make sure everything we do has our stamp on it."

Indeed, Vena Cava has made thoughtful choices in how to expose their brand to a wider market, allowing their brand to shine through on footwear and contraception alike.

For the Japan-based mass-fashion chain, Vena Cava marks the latest in a lineup of guest designers, which has included Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Costello Tagliapietra and Steven Alan, plus the recurring J+ by Jil Sander Collection.
