Topshop Scales Back its Kate Moss Collections

Are Kate Moss and Topshop breaking up? WWD announced today that the last full Kate Moss for Topshop collection will hit stores on October 25, but going forward, the popular British retailer will put out a series of smaller capsule collections.

The Kate Moss for Topshop line, which originally debuted in 2007 to a notably popular response has since been reduced from six annual shipments to two by the fast-fashion chain. Sir Phillip Green, owner of Topshop's parent company Arcadia Group, indicated to WWD that the reorganized production schedule is based solely on the immense time commitment required by previous collections and maintaining certain quality standards. Other sources, however, have attributed the changes to the progression of the supermodel's original contract.

While it's easier to gossip about what may have gone wrong than accept that things sometimes just run their course, that very well could be the case. Personally, we're hoping the reduced commitment with Topshop might mean Moss is branching out to other, undoubtedly awesome fashion ventures.
