Tom Ford to Show at London Fashion Week for “Monthly Magazines” Only

When Tom Ford revealed his first womenswear collection in years at New York Fashion Week back in September, he didn't stage a presentation or put on a large-scale runway show. He opted instead to debut the collection at his store, in front of an intimate (and, it should be said, star-studded) group of fashion editors and insiders.

It turns out the designer won't be unveiling his next collection in New York at all. The Telegraph has confirmed that Ford will be showing his Fall 2011 wares in London during the city's fashion week (running February 18-23).

A spokesman at Tom Ford confirmed the rumour, but said that instead of a show, there "will only be a small presentation for international monthly magazines." Dates and location are yet to be revealed.

The Telegraph is positioning the move as a bolster for London Fashion Week in general, which, despite claiming brands like Burberry and Stella McCartney (as well as newcomers like Erdem) has suffered to stay relevant in the face of larger, splashy affairs in Paris, Milan, and New York.
