Timo Weiland: Seafaring Coats, Moscot eyewear, Fjordland Hipsters

Between the oil-stained jackets and Albertus Swanepoel berets in Sunday's presentation, it was clear that ever-hip designer Timo Weiland designers Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein looked to the sea for Spring 2011 design inspiration.

Models in their Lincoln Center Box studio presentation were outfitted with a range of hip twists on fjordland style. Striped knits, quirky prints, and teal and red color palettes and blocks popped up on blazers, coats, and henleys.

Menswear included waffle henleys, slim, cuffed trousers, and fisherman coats styled with showy striped socks (worn with espadrilles), Moscot glasses, and Timo Weiland x Esquivel lace-up boots, while women modeled trim, retro blouses (both tied and nipped at the waist), high-waisted shorts and skirts, and more than a few boxy blazers and structured or sleeveless cardigans.

To top it all off? "The Watch" -- the brand's look-driven film collaboration with artist Ryan McNamara -- looped overhead on LCD walls along the ceiling.
