Taylor Swift Channels Stevie Nicks on First Vogue Cover

After Taylor Swift was spotted sitting front row with Anna Wintour at Rodarte's Spring 2012 runway show back in September, rumors flew that she might be on her way to landing a Vogue cover, and now it seems those rumors have come to fruition: the starlet covers the February issue of the fashion bible, due out on newsstands January 24th.

In the magazine, Jonathan van Meter writes that Rodarte's dreamy Van Gogh-influenced collection seemed made for Swift, and indeed, the singer wears a ton of pieces from the label's collection in the spread accompanying her interview, including a sunflower-soaked dress and a "Starry Night" gown over a pair of jeans. Swift overall seems to be channeling Stevie Nicks in her floppy hat, bangs, and sexy-bohemian-country-girl aesthetic.

In addition to the Rodarte show, van Meter accompanies Swift to several studio visits to some talented upstarts on the New York fashion scene, including Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, and Joseph Altuzarra. Whether these were Vogue's suggestions or her own, who knews, but she does rather cleverly describe Wang's Spring 2012 collection as "very race car–driver slash Tron slash ski slope slash parka-without-being-a-parka" -- which might be among the better (and more succinct) write-ups we've yet read.

Back in December, there were conflicting reports that Taylor Swift and Adele were being considered for cover shoots -- Adele for the March issue of Vogue. No word yet on whether Adele has made the cut for the March issue or for any interior pages in the February issue.
