Sarah Jessica Parker to Help Celebrate McQueen at CFDA Awards

Hints were leaked earlier this week about what "major star" would be presenting a special tribute to McQueen at this year's CFDA awards, and it turns out Sarah Jessica Parker will spearhead the event.

The CFDA's Twitter page dropped several clues as to who would present the special tribute, claiming the special guest was both "a major star" and "close friend" of the designer. The two famously walked the red carpet together at the Met's Costume Institute Gala in 2006 draped in matching tartan plaid, and Parker released a statement shortly after the designer's death earlier this year saying she was "overcome with grief," and found his death to be "haunting."

The tribute itself promises to be as spectacular as it will be emotional: It will be the first time the designer's Fall 2010 collection will be unveiled in public after its presentation during Paris Fashion Week (which was open to a select few invitees).
