During a recent screening for the documentary "Dressed," a chronicle of designer Nary Manivong's attempts to launch his fashion line, the dean of fashion at Parsons The New School for Design took a moment to comment on the film—and deliver a swipe to Tommy Hilfiger: "There are some who want to make beautiful dresses and there's some who want to be the next Tommy Hilfiger," Simon Collins said, according to the NY Post.
It's hard to imagine some any kind of greater context excusing such an egregious flub. What's more, Hilfiger was actually present, as his daughter Ally is now a partner in Manivong's line NAHM. Collins apparently made a swift exit after the screening, which is a smart thing. Tommy's no stranger to brawling.
