French brand Petit Bateau is known to most folks for its pitch-perfect tees and kids' gear, but the retailer has something a bit more high-fashion up its sleeve for the holiday season.
Petit Bateau has collaborated with Didier Ludot, a Paris-based collector of spectacular haute couture dresses, on two little black dresses that Elle reports were each inspired by a '60s style icon. A black A-line shift with little pockets channels Twiggy, while a black dress with a flouncy hem and prim white collar is apparently modeled after Catherine Deneuve.
Ludot has pretty much inarguably good taste -- he's the one who sold Reese Witherspoon that dazzling vintage Dior dress she wore to the 2006 Oscars -- and these two little dresses will likely get pulled out of any closet again and again. Snap up the Catherine or the Twiggy on Petit Bateau's website come December 5th.
