Somehow it's already August, which means it's time to maximize our summer enjoyment with beach trips, ice cream cones, and of course, designers' warm-weather playlists. Melissa Coker of LA-based label Wren is soaking up the last days of the season with hip-hop jams from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Katy Perry mega-pop, and dance tunes from Ratatat.
"Thinkin Bout You," Frank Ocean - "Okay, going to get controversial here: a falsetto to rival Prince's. There, I said it."
The Swimming Song," Loudon Wainwright III - "Summery nostalgic vibes. Take me to a time machine, please."
"Mercy," Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz - "I love the dancehall samples on this one. Cruel summer indeed."
"No Sleep," Wiz Khalifa - "Party all day, party all night. 'Nuff said."
"Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," Katy Perry - "I have a playlist on my computer entitled 'Hiking,' but it's secretly filled with only Katy Perry songs. Guilty pleasure alert."
"Lemonade," Gucci Mane - "What can I say, the children singing get me every time."
"Seventeen Years," Ratatat - "I hear this song and want to get my dance on STAT!"
